Preserving the traditions, promoting the interest,
and observing the anniversaries of historical occasions
of particular interest to Veterans.
We Honor All Who Served
Funerals
Our primary objective is to provide military honors for our deceased Brothers and Sisters. We follow DOD established protocol and work with Active Duty Honor Guards when present.
Parades
Parades are a great way to help our neighbors remember that there is always a military presence in our community.
Events
Participating in military-centric events is another task that we enjoy. These can range from presenting Colors to Wreaths.
Service to Veterans
Veterans and chow seem to go hand in hand. We try to snag a meal at any opportunity we can get. This means that we will typically gather prior to or after an event at a local establishment, even if it is just for a cup o’joe.

Our primary function is to provide military honors at funerals for our deceased Veteran brothers and sisters. A uniform is provided to you and you will learn the customs and information necessary to easily step into a role to assist the detail. We also work together to place flags on Veteran graves for Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
2
The fun part of Honor Guard is the participation in parades and military-focused events. We co-host two local parades each year; Memorial Day and Veterans Day. We participate in other parades in the Eastern Panhandle Region of West Virginia. We also assist with Color Guard duties for County events and as requested.
3
We occasionally have the chance to share fellowship and break bread with each other. We celebrate our hard work with an end of the year dinner which takes place around Veterans Day.
