Harpers Ferry /Bolivar District Veterans Honor Guard is a private association, not for profit, with a focus on service and not social orientation. 

The objectives and purposes of the association shall be: 

1. To preserve the traditions of, promote interest in, and observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Veterans,
2. To hold sacred the memory and history of men and women who have given their lives to the nation by conducting appropriate ceremonies to honor these Veterans both collectively and individually,
3. To provide assistance (other than financial) to Veterans and/or their families, 
4. To provide camaraderie and fellowship among all Veterans (and their spouses/significant others) of all wars, conflicts, and other military actions in which American citizens have actively participated, 
5. To promote the social welfare of the community, to promote the common good and general welfare of the people to the community,
6. To conduct programs for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes,
7. To maintain the Harpers Ferry/Bolivar Veterans Memorial, and
8. To operate solely as a non-profit organization.
